In May 1967, Enrique’s family arrived from Cuba to New Jersey. A few years later, Enrique’s father, Innocent Reyes and uncle, Justo Reyes undertook their very first bakery shop. In 1972, they decided to move the shop to Miami, FL in the hopes of establishing their business. Enrique grew in the industry and learned the art of cooking and baking, becoming an extraordinary Master Baker & Chef. With time and searching for a better future for his family, Enrique moved to Texas in 2009. Where he began working as a manager for a supermarket chain. However, with the restlessness of establishing his own business and seeing that there was not many Cuban cuisine he opened his first Cuban restaurant in Austin, TX, along with wife and daughter. The doors of Tropicana Cuban Restaurant opened on September 4, 2010.
